A polite review of a great product!
My co. uses Constant Contact for our large blasts and its more than sufficient for that. I'm the guy in the trenches doing all the direct Tele-Sales and follow up so I send marketing emails here and there. Something like Constant contact is not practical for me. I searched for a solution and most were way too expensive. I send out about 20 emails a day so this was an ideal solution to track my prospects.
Pros.
The reporting is better than any other system out there. Very robust.
The tracking is in near real-time. I can call prospects almost at the same time they're reading the email.
Other systems with real time reporting are expensive.
It works right from outlook.
Excellent customer support.
Easy to set up and get running.
Great price with a pay as you go method.
Cons.
The interface is cluttered and since its web based it's speed relies on your connection speed.
Links and Graphics insertion is not user friendly. This really should be automatic.
Template creation is confusing.
Not cost effective if your doing 1000+ email blasts daily,there are cheaper email systems out there for bulk.
Overall this seems to work well but can use some polishing. Basically it does exactly what it says it does. I can see this after a few upgrades and some restructuring of there pricing for bulk email, of this becoming the be all end all of email marketing.
Recommended highly for individual sales reps doing individual personalized emails.
